Ambiance

Do you have problems with you sleep? Is your neighbor’s dog barking again like a fool? Or you just want to make a short break in your crowded office? Then you only need you iPod Touch or iPhone, and don’t be afraid from being called the iPhone is well known from rejecting your calls.

There are lots of apps which lets you disconnect from the world’s problems and just relax, and the big part only for a buck or you even free.

It’s no secret these are my favorite apps. I go to sleep every night with aSleep or Ambiance.

Now I will take a closer look on some of these apps to show you there unique features.

All of these apps have the same concept it plays you some relaxing sounds like if you were walking along a sandy beach or sitting next to a campfire on a wonderful summer night, and there all has the ability to stop the music after some time.

aSleep

The first app of this type has started with a couple of sounds and grow out himself to the biggest selection of high quality sounds in a free update to version 2.0 so you have to count with a 172MB when installing aSleep. The design is awesome a background image cartoony and funny which can make me tired by only by looking at it. And more than more sounds come in updates. New in 2.0 is the volume slider for the old iPod touches. You can set up a count down after it’s elapsing the volume gently slides down and saves you a few seconds of battery life. The Sounds: a great collection of sounds from nature over musical instruments and high-tech sounds like Computer and Alien, and all this in god quality.

Ambiance

This app has a friendly design, it’s not as easy to use as aSleep but it has some more options. You can set up that after the countdown it starts an Alarm signal. It has a big collection of sounds but with a few bizarre ones like “Fan” and “Airplane”. The sound quality is variable some of them are noisy some of them are just bad. However great app it’s worth its price.

iChillout

Do you ever wanted to go to the Indonesian Rainforest or to relax next to a Scottish Waterfall. The iChillout won’t bring you the Rainforest in to your room but the exotic noises of 4 different of them, 5 waterfalls and a lots of other nice sounds like “Monastry” all of them has enjoyable quality. Every sound has its own image is displayed on the top of the display however the app looks bad and is hard to use. The countdown does not always let to setup its self and there is an ugly, big (i) in the right corner

White Noise

Our last contestant is the free white noise. If you don’t want to spend 1$ for a quiet night than you have to download this app it gives you the choice of 8 different situations, the sound quality is… yes… sounds aren’t clear and unreal and other minus is that I can’t setup a countdown, I just can’t.

Nature SDS

The plus one app I’m introducing to you is Nature SDS it has a lollypop design, the concept is that you have to chose from three different themes (ocean, storm and night) in all themes you get a lots of other sounds which can be activated and it’s volume can be regulated also individually. But all of them have a bad quality and the app freezes a lot and if it is starting than it takes a lot of time to load.
