Windows live Writer

reverted dscreenI made my last post with the new the beta of the new windows live writer and it is  awesome as the rest of the live softwares. This is a blog poster tool that lets you create professional posts. It is supporting obviously live spaces, sharepoint, blogger, wordpress that I’m using to, typepad and also others. The application has a Windows like design, no ribbons but an intelligent sidebar on the right side which is change depending from the selected item in the window, if you select an image you can change its layout give it some borders, rotate it, change it’s contrast, corp it, tilt it, add watermarks or even add predominated effects like sepia and “balck and white”. If there are no selected items it proposes you to Insert some and is giving you a link to open your previous works. If all that’s not enough than you are able to install plug-ins there are about 110 available of those at gallery.live.com, with those you can make all kind of things like insert flickr images, add digg buttons, integrate the snipping tool and so on.

This is a great peas of software is not as powerful but looks better and is just lighter, easier to use than Word 2007.

My Book

western-digital-my-book-essential-edition-1-tb-external-hard-drive[1]

One of my presents I’ve got for Christmas this year is a 500Gb external hard drive from Western Digital. It is a My Book Essential Edition, nice and shine but sadly also good for storing fingerprints on the side. On the front are two friendly lighting blue LEDs and looks cool on every desk or in every bookshelf it has a size smaller than 4 DVD cases but not as high than one. It came in a nice green box filed with a plastic thingy protecting the device its self and the plug has a European and an American head too. Out of the box it has a FAT Partition with some Backup software and a few google crapware installations on it so I reformatted it to NTFS. It has a maximum writing speed of about 20Mb/s and is really quiet.
